Melissa Joyce FAQ

Q: Is Melissa Joyce your real name?
A: Melissa is my first name and Joyce is my middle name – so yes!

Q: What qualifications do you have to review makeup and skincare?
A: Nothing formal but I’ve started to learn more about makeup and skincare over the last two years. I consider myself an amateur but an enthusiast and my reviews will help a non make-up artist see how a product might work for them.

Q: What is your real job?
A: Iā€™ve been working in not-for-profit organizations for 15 years.

Q: What kind of skin concerns do you have?
A: My skin is combination where my T-zone gets oily. I have pores I would like to minimize and some skin redness. Iā€™m also in my late 30s so wrinkles and anti-ageing is a concern. Oh and I do get break-outs from time to time. So I have a bit of everything!

Love your in depth reviews! I would love to know your thoughts on the Revlon color stay foundation. BTW I have fell back in love with the real techniques sponge. You was right the pur sponges do not blend as well. I really thought they did but sadly no. Thank you for your hard work.

Wow! Great review! You really went all out, trying to make this product work. I am wondering if the foundation is meant to be used over top of their Blurr Stick. It’s a priming stick and is known for blurring pores. I’m glad you got it to work for you. I think I may try it…perhaps ask for a Sephora gift card around the Holidays. My pores drive me crazy…even with a primer they still are huge! I hope you get your car back soon! Walking in the humidity is seriously draining! Have a great week!

Thanks so much Beth! They did suggest that you use it over either the Blur Stick or their Sunshine Oil depending on if you are dry or oily – but they always suggest using foundations with their own primers! I’m keeping my fingers crossed on my car – whatever is happening seems to be kind of a big issue and I’m not looking forward to them diagnosing it and telling me how much it’s going to cost.
